Wes has been a Financial Planner for more than 15 years and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Practitioner. Wes’s desire to help others with their financial goals began at an early age from the frugality lessons he received from his Mom. Wes focuses on helping individuals manage their wealth through disciplined, fiduciary planning and investment processes.
Wes worked with CUNA Mutual for 8 years as an employee advisor. Then, in 2013, he left to cofound the firm ACT Advisors, a fee-only Registered Investment Advisor (RIA). ACT Advisors® focuses on helping clients work toward their financial goals through excellence in investment management, comprehensive financial planning, and compassionate engagement. Wes currently works out of ACT Advisors’ Mt. Pleasant office.
Wes is a past President and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the South Carolina chapter of the Financial Planning Association. In his current role, he serves to promote public education of financial planning principles.
Wes grew up in Gastonia, NC and earned his bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has lived in the Charleston area for over 15 years. Wes and his wife Juliana have two young children. Wes coaches his children’s basketball and volleyball teams. In their free time, the Johnson Family enjoys coupon clipping and yelling at the TV during UNC basketball games.
