Estate Planning Coordination For a More Aligned Wealth Strategy

Coordinating your estate plan with your broader financial and tax strategy—whether you already have an estate planning attorney or want a structured path to create or update your documents.

At ACT Advisors, we believe your estate plan should not sit disconnected from the rest of your financial life. We proactively coordinate with your estate planning attorney—bringing your ACT Advisors financial planner and attorney into the same conversation so your trust, will, and beneficiary decisions can be considered alongside your investment and tax strategy.

For clients who do not have an estate planning attorney yet, or whose plan has stalled, ACT Advisors can facilitate a structured estate-document process using estate-planning software. ACT gathers the financial-planning information needed for the process and helps clients move through the steps. The documents are prepared through the applicable third-party provider, with attorney involvement or review when appropriate based on the client’s circumstances and the service being used. ACT Advisors does not practice law, provide legal advice, or prepare legal documents.

When Your Estate Attorney and Financial Advisor Are Working Separately

When your financial advisor and estate attorney operate in silos, decisions can end up conflicting—a beneficiary designation that does not match your trust, an account that was never retitled, or a plan that was drafted years ago and never updated as your financial picture changed. By facilitating direct communication with your estate planning attorney, we help bring your investment, financial-planning, and estate considerations into the same conversation.

Coordinated Planning at Key Milestones

Whether you are selling a business, retiring, exercising stock options, or updating beneficiaries after a life event, we help coordinate the financial and investment angles with your estate planning attorney so your documents and financial plan can be considered together.

Communication With Your Estate Attorney

With your explicit written authorization, our team can share relevant financial information directly with your estate planning attorney to help support alignment between your financial plan and your estate documents.

Keeping Estate Planning on the Financial Planning Agenda

Estate plans often go stale—trusts that were never funded, powers of attorney that name people who are no longer in the picture, or beneficiary forms that have not been updated in a decade. As part of our regular planning process, we help flag when it may be time to revisit your estate plan and coordinate financial-planning information with the attorney or outside provider responsible for the documents.

Don’t Have an Estate Planning Attorney? We Can Help You Get the Process Moving.

A multigenerational family relaxing together on a porch.

Not every client has an existing estate-planning relationship, and for many, getting started is the hardest part. ACT Advisors can facilitate the estate-document process through EncorEstate Plans’ estate-planning software, a third-party scrivener service identified in ACT Advisors’ Form ADV, or coordinate with estate-planning attorneys based on the client’s needs. ACT remains involved in the process by gathering relevant financial-planning information, helping clients understand how estate decisions connect to their financial plan, and coordinating with the outside provider or attorney as appropriate.

ACT Advisors does not practice law, provide legal advice, prepare legal documents or deeds, or represent clients as attorneys. Legal-document preparation and legal review are performed by the applicable third-party provider or licensed attorney, who—not ACT Advisors—is responsible for those services. Clients should consult a licensed estate-planning attorney regarding individual legal circumstances.
